Stupid fonts!!!

AARGGGGGGH!!!! I am soooooo frustrated. I remember a while back I read something about how if the ascii pics were messed up looking, you could try using a different font to view it. But I forgot which one, and it still looks crazy, and I'm going to burn my computer, and then kill everyone at Microsoft, and then take over the US, and declare war on mars.....anyway, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! ____________________________________ "The plan was simple. Try some form of "Courier" or some other *fixed-width* font (i.e., all characters are the same size. Or did you already know that? If Courier doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you. Martin, Do you own an amiga? I've always wondered what the font name was that the DOS "Amiga X Font Emulator" was really emulating. There are a few TSRs out there such as ami.com and other so-called simulators. I wish I had an Amiga so I could compare and contrast differences between Ami and the emulated set. The original Amiga 1000 displayed on a TV-compatible monitor, and the fonts weren't anything special. But an _X_ font emulator? As I recall, some later Amigas ran Motif... this may have something to do with the X Window System. And you *can* see what that is all about. Dude, :) I don't mean to be rude or anything but you don't just -install- Linux... It's way to complicated for just wanting to see a font. Linux is for people (like me) with too much time on their hands who love to tinker with things and don't get too mad when everything on their Windows partition gets erased. :D (FUN) Oh well... Most likely that would be topaz/8, as that one comes in the kickstart ROM and is the default standard font. However, there are two versions of it, the old KS1 and the newer KS2 version, which are essentially two completely different fonts with the same size and boldness. The whole reason I ever got into ASCII-art was because of having a first ISP (freenet) that had no graphics. (And yes, I know the graphics can be downloaded.) Maybe I should just dump the whole explanation entirely. When I made that shortened version for dummies who don't like to read the whole FAQ, I was aiming at the Brand new users whose first computers are equipped with graphics and html readers and have never considered that others don't see exactly what is on the monitor in front of them. If someone wants to repost the ASCII ART pic with the original signature on it, they should be able to do so but without making the other person feel defensive or the need to reply to it. We shouldn't expect everyone to dig up where they got their copy of the pic and change it.
