USE STYLE SHEETS! > > (with due apologies to Veronica for using the "look and feel" of her > Figlet ad ;-) ) Oh dear! I had no intention of antagonizing any Lynx users (or anyone, for that matter). The whole reason I ever got into ASCII-art was because of having a first ISP (freenet) that had no graphics. (And yes, I know the graphics can be downloaded.) Maybe I should just dump the whole explanation entirely. When I made that shortened version for dummies who don't like to read the whole FAQ, I was aiming at the Brand new users whose first computers are equipped with graphics and html readers and have never considered that others don't see exactly what is on the monitor in front of them. I will investigate STYLE SHEETS if I can find out what they are. (I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I am one of those new users in the above paragraph whose first computer ran Windows95.) My sister loves to tell people about the time when she was looking at something on our brand new computer and a DOS screen came up (as she expected) and I freaked out thinking the computer was crashing (AGAIN -- as it did so many times when we first started) because there were no pictures anymore. But I'll bear your suggestions in mind and thank you for them. NOTE: If you hit the reply button, add an "e" to the "freent"; its absense is to stop the torment of automatic mailers. -- ___ ha Things were SO much easier when _/ | ,^%--- ha I thought EVERYBODY ran Windows95 |_____| __<_ \ ha and used Netscape Navigator 3.01... --- == >/ (I hope you know I'm joking on all counts!)
