I do like the idea of IIOP, though, and I'll have to see if I can get back into it again (I dabbled in it for my own amusement some time ago, and it's fairly easy to work with but does require knowledge of IDL). Standards? In spades, although it depends to some extent on what one calls a "standard", as MS Word is also a standard, because of its de facto standard nature. But it's not very well documented. :-) By contrast, HTML, XML, SGML, TeX, and such are very standardized. Speed? My understanding at this time is that XP is *slower* than Win2k -- and Win2k wasn't noted for its high speed, although it was faster than NT. The only thing XP has that Linux doesn't is the respect given to an entity manufactured/developed/designed by a firm which is tops in an industry in sales. I like your work, I just think it is a bit hard to tell what it is supposed to be, overloaded with the glasses and the goatee and the troll-in-mouth. I liked the "Jurassic Park" dinosaur the best. I made the back of the T-REX smoother and more true to the correct form. I then removed the extra pair of legs it had .. T-REX's have 2 big thick legs to support it's weight and 2 little arms with claws. Then I smoothed the belly of the T-REX. I altered the mouth to make it smaller and give a stronger apearence of teeth.. in the process i lost the goatee , as it would not bring the drawing closer to a recognisible T-REX. By placing another visible leg and still having the little arms with claws this brings the total to 6 legs .. which is not my idea of a T-REX. We should only to be able to see 1 leg and one arm, and maybe a small partial bit of the leg and arm on the other side of the T-REX. I tried to do that with the ` in : `\\ I meant for the ` to define the belly but also realised that the same char could also be seen as a small partially revealed part of the leg on the other side .. like a knee or something. You also cut away a _ from it's back .. I don't know if this was by accident or not , but by leaving it blank you give the appearence of a more smooth curve. I like it.
