We had a very long discussion on n.p.m.mail-news about that topic. However, I wasn't able to change something (towards plaintext). The current default behaviour for mail in Messenger 4.x is (details are certainly wrong): Compose in HTML User hits "Send" Check, if all recipients like HTML +-yes | Send HTML +-no Check, if there's formatting in the msgs +-no | Send Plain Text +-yes Ask, what to do: Send TXT, Send HTML or both (both is selected). If there's more than one recipient, this can be set for each individually. I don't know about news, but it might be similar. In 5.0, the plan is to default news to plain text and mail similar to 4.x IIRC. -- Ben Bucksch http://www.bucksch.org
