Depending on the picture, I more often than not get crap from these
programs.  I do, however, like trying to improve this crap.

I don't have any other before/after examples handy, but of course the
program created http://www.fiction.org/www/stuff/pikachu.txt as filled in,
which I removed, except for the parts that should have been shaded.
What takes a fair bit of time, though, is adding the lines that the
programs seems to have no hope of converting well.  (that I've seen)

I guess this counts as diddling/tweaking as you mention, but you
wanted discussion, so... :)
