Ahh, here it is. The idea that spawned the previous strip. IIRC,
this one actually emerged out of a daydream of mine about the
band Tenacious D and an argument they could have. I originally
thought that it would be a really funny gag to have a voice-over
that said "Two seconds later" between two lines of dialogue,
mostly because it's so redundant. I like to imagine Jack Black
reading Nerd Boy's dialogue in this episode. (He'd add a great
deal of cursing of course).
Did I mention that Tenacious D rocks and that their "Fucker"
skit is hilarious? :)

Like I said in another post somewhere around these parts, there's a reason Mandy hasn't already left Nerd Boy, never to come back. She does have feelings, even though she might be good at hiding them most of the time. Even though I might not have actively intended to do so at the time of writing, I think now that this moment was a good place to let them shine through. This is the first time Nerd Boy has ever said anything directly hurtful to Mandy. They were friends. How is a person supposed to react? Whew, I should write a rant about this. I apparently have a lot more to say about it than I thought.
