A small etiquette question.

A small etiquette question.

I already read the faq, but there was a point that I want to get right.

I found a rose of the appropriate size and quality for my sig. It was
tagged with the ubiquitous jgs. *g* jgs does good stuff.

The original rose, though, was faced the wrong direction, and I tweaked
with the leaves a bit. (Still trying to tweak, by the way. I'm trying
to make them look fuller, with little success. I'm quite bad at this,
and would appreciate some help.)

It's still quite recognizably the same rose design, but I've modified
it. I don't know if it's worse etiquette to remove the prior credit or
to continue entirely attributing jgs with something that she didn't
entirely compose and might not like.

(Hey, jgs, if you see this message and tell me your preferred policy,
that would be great.)

I'm left in the clumsy middle. Currently, my design looks like this:
--
[name] ,;'`
[contact info] / ,.---.
===============================^===^====;=====<___.-()
[contact info] \ `----'
[contact info] ';. jgs, mrg
--

Is there a consensus on what to do about modified work?

[snip]

often people add thier credit to the modified version so that
if the first version was credited like so:

"jgs"

and i tweeked it enough that it was a signifigant change,
i would add to the credits like so:

"jgs/Krogg"

(this is often missused in minor tweeks)

or if i didnt want to add _my_ credit i might change
the credit like so:

"-after jgs"

or if it was change a lot and there isnt much of the original
artists part left i might change it like so,

"Krogg,after jgs"

Of course the best solution is to make an original
ascii and put yer own credit on it...

Also i think i should point out that any inversions
or flippings should inherit the credit of the original.

AND sometimes its best to show BOTH pieces and get
opinions about it,You should post both versions
so we can see.
