Goodbye Ascii Art World (Was:Re: [REQ] Z-art-further req)

I fiddled with this script for 4 hours straight. Trust me, this is how it can be done. (incredibly enough, you can't use " and \ characters either, which limited the number of pictures I could use too...) > > The font tag works the way that if you don't have the first font it > > suggests, it looks for the next one, if you don't have that it goes to > > the next one and so on. > > I know that. I also know a few very good reasons NOT to use the <font> > tag at all! Like I said before, if there's a <font> tag in your html > then you know you've done something wrong. Good reasoning...we should all just go back to 1994 when Times were the only font you could view the web in. I just love that :P > > (I've also done HTML since 1993 and have my own > > webdesign business, so I know my stuff). > > Obviously you do not. > > > Obviously you don't have any of > > the fonts it suggests. Yeah, and turning of cookies is also a popular feature, and it too seriously limits your way of using the web... > > Check the HTML and see for yourself... > > > > OK: > > http://validator.w3.org/ > > gives a LONG list of syntax errors. You can't measure preformatted text in "pixels", and > expect other people to get the same result. Your logo is "96 characters > wide" (or "96 columns wide"), not "640 pixels wide" (apparently it was > much more than that on my screen, with the font I have chosen). The page is designed for people who leave their browser display preferences to it's default. (Which most people do...) Well thank you Veronica. You seriously discouraged me from ever more updating my collection. I updated from request from several people, but you (and a few more) finally killed the joy I once felt collecting ascii art. Concider this post a goodbye to the ascii world... I'll go for real graphics from now on.... cya! Erik K.
