In fact my Ascii Dictionary is something like condensed 'fair use'. I just cannot stand this 'fair use equals 2k of characters' etc. So I may publish a book using small poems by everyone without permission? A poem is not the sum of it's characters, neither is ascii art. Otherwise it would not be art. In short: You may copy small Picassos but you mustn't copy the big ones. Great stuff! :) Advise to the artist : Don't go miniature! I doubt that there's much danger in copying ascii-art. On the other hand a copyright has not to be defended like a trademark. So a court at least would support your right to give (or take) the permission to copy a piece of art in any case. (As far as I know.) The more I read your posts the more I believe that you don't really see ascii-art as art. Do you? Do you defend free copying of other art forms as well, or is it just because it's part of the big and mighty net? :) Andreas . .--. _ .' ) + ' . . .' `-' ( _ .
