Hi all,
Just finished reading the post from JRO, long one :)
The man is right about what he writes, so why should I comment on it,
well
I will comment cause, I think even though JRO does claim he met nice
people there, the impression I get reading the post is that all the
mirc color channels (read chatrooms) are ascii-ripper channels,
--quote--
Go into one of them color-ascie-ripoff channels and use your name, and
they'll know who you are.
--eoq--
maybe I read it a little wrong, maybe I am touchy (aint we all), but
I read there that no matter where u join they live to make ascii
ripoff's.
And that I don't think is a correct picture to paint, I don't claim
that I havent seen ripp's, I have, on irc, on the web, in this
newsgroup.
To the point, so it wont get to long.
Here are my 3 cents :
- some channels like long text's some don't...is just how it is.
- some channels like mature text's, some doesn't, some channels
have ppl that in fact are kids.
- *** JRO (n...@xxx-xxx-xxx-xx.xxxxxxx.net) Quit (Excess Flood), doesn't
mean someone didn't like the strip, that is a server protection
that got triggered, because one sends to many lines to fast to the
server. Yes it is a pain, but one learns to live with it. :)
- Many of the people I know that make their own text's do not publish
here for 1 simple reason, we don't claim it is ascii we make, we use
ascii, but we use the full character set of windows. Yes, most of
the channels are platform/client dependent. I dont think people
would like my full coloured patterns in here ;).
- When analysing what goes on in an area, one would maybe expect more
comments on what JRO did like when visiting the IRC, if you did that
JRO, then it makes me sad to hear.
That was my 2 cents (yes I took one cent off, running out of room).
