Check out the Polish group, pl.rec.ascii-art. All the discussion there
is in Polish (which I ignore since I don't understand any of it). I just
enjoy the pictures (which are sometimes very nice). Sometimes there are
cartoons there that make me a little bit curious, but that's the only
time I'm sorry I don't understand Polish (and brojek has been most
helpful with that detail, during long bored hours in my chat...). :)

I don't see why you should crosspost. There is practically no
crossposting between this group the Polish group and I suspect most
people who read one of the groups also at least subscribe to and browse
through the other. I find it useful to know that I most likely _won't_
understand the blocks of text in the Polish group and can just quickly
go *click*click*click*click*click* through it and just look at (and
copy) the pictures. The same way I find it useful to know that most of
the long blocks of text in alt.ascii-art.animation will be about
animation and I can safely ignore it and just look at the URLs...

I think you should instead ask for if there are enough people who would
want an ascii art group in German.
