 Q stands for Quantum Mechanic.  The ^ means a trap, in this case we
 gather from the fact that all the carrots, symbolized by a %, are
 missing tells us that they are pit traps that are left over from
 digging up the carrots. 

Does this make sense?  No.  The caption says he ate "most" of the
carrots yet none are seen on the screen.  And the bee would be an "a"
but we can't see that because the Q ate it.

Does this make me a nethack geek?  yes.  Have I assended?  no.  What
dealings with nethack has tran had?  Apparently not much.  Only other
nethack referance I can find is #855.

And I noticed that Google listed Jerkcity as the second most popular
listing for '"ascii art farts" nethack' even though it is linking to
the this comic and was just posted yesturday.  Which means that I am
not as understanding of google's pagerank system as I used to be.
