Well, curiosity finally cost me $9.37; about 10 minutes FTP transfer
time; and 38 minutes download time at a modem speed of 14,400 to get
the Figlet font file "1997 international.tar.z".

-rw-r--r-- 1 figlet NEXUS 344190 Dec 9 1997 contributed.tar.gz

-rw-r--r-- 1 figlet NEXUS 46339 Dec 9 1997 ours.tar.gz

I also checked on "1997 ours.tar.gz" which is a gzipped file of
Fonts by the Figlet originators/authors and contains only Fonts
which are generally available:

The real culprit is the 3677Kb ( 3.68Mb ) file "cjkfonts.tar.gz"
which unpacks to some gigantic Chinese and Japanese Fonts and
Characters listed below:

------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the CJK (Chinese-Japanese-Korean) package for FIGlet 2.2.

The following fonts are provided:
                                                            Size
                                                           (Bytes)

gb16fs - Chinese fang song ti font 2,466,136
        Converted from X font: uses 16 x 16 characters
        GB2312 encoding 2466136 Bytes
gb16st - Chinese song ti font 2,466,123
        Converted from X font: uses 16 x 16 characters
        GB2312 encoding
jiskan16 - Japanese font 2,739,080
        Converted from X font: uses 16 x 16 characters
        JIS 0208X 1983 encoding
hanglg16 - Korean Gothic font 2,650,113
        Converted from X font: uses 16 x 16 characters
        KSC5601 encoding
kanglm16 - Korean Mincho font 2,650,113
        Converted from X font: uses 16 x 16 characters
        KSC5601 encoding
cns - Traditional Chinese font 23,815,528
        Converted from X font: uses 40 x 40 characters
CNS encoding, with 0x010000 added to plane 1
and 0x020000 added to plane 2 characters

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Now...how would llizard...or anyone...like to make a Figfont with
24 million bytes? The mind boggles.

For those interested in the SMALL International Fonts listed above,
here they are. They're supposed to read as Testy 123, ntgreek looks
close. :-)

Besides, I have enough trouble with the English alphabet. I don't think
I should go meddling in scripts of languages I have no knowledge of!
