Hello you wonderfully talented ASCII artists! Does anyone have an ASCII rendition of the famous "Darwin" fish, the one borrowed from the Christian fish emblem seen on cars nowadays? I've looked at a couple of your collections, but no dice. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! --Johnny

Perfect size for a sig. Now, how would you put the name "Darwin" in there? Also, I think the head needs to be facing to the left. Is it possible to reverse the last one? It can be larger, if needed to center the name in the body... Thank you very much, nevertheless. If you can do this, are there initials or other attribution I can attach to the drawing? --Johnny
I too would like to have a darwin fish sig. Post or email me the final picture Todd

I really have no idea what the Darwin fish is all about...
and I'm not quite sure what it looks like... but I do know
what the Christian fish symbol looks like... maybe I
can give this a try...

The best yet! A quick perusal of a nearby parking lot revealed the following: Christian fish: 1 simple fish (outline, no words) 1 fish with "Jesus is Lord" 1 fish with "IX0YE" 3 fish with "Jesus" *ALL WITH THE HEAD POINTED TO THE _LEFT_* Darwin fish: None seen. I don't know if this means that there are very few outspoken Darwinists or that there are more than a few but the risk of insulting fundamentalists isn't worth the visibility. ;) Anyway, as the point of the "Darwin" fish is some kind of parody, I would think that they would also point to the left, rather than the right. The trouble is, I like the use of the "L" for legs (right-pointing) rather than the "J" (left-pointing). Oh well. Thanks again everyone...
Just a follow-up, I found a web site for the "Darwin" fish at http://www.rof.com Curiously enough, they face to the RIGHT. What this may mean for the right/left-conservative/liberal angle mentioned previously is unknown, but it doesn't seen to fit, if you know what I mean... OK, I know this whole discussion has gotten a bit ridiculous, but I also noticed that the "Darwin" symbol on this site is trademarked, as indicated by a "TM". The question then arises as to whether an ASCII rendition is some kind of trademark violation. Any opinions, facts? Or should we just drop this whole discussion? ;)

The question then arises >as to whether an ASCII rendition is some kind of trademark >violation. Any opinions, facts? Oh, oh! I better take all the cartoon characters off my ASCII Art site! ;) I think that if people have financial gain from using the TM pictures, then there are ramifications... However, I have heard that Disney is quite adament about keeping their characters as theirs even if there is no money involved..... Most don't seem to mind- as it is 'free' advertising. I am not a lawyer, so just treat this post as my ramblings... -joan BTW, glad to hear that you liked the fish... I preferred the L leg over the J, but couldn't figure what else to use... glad it faces to the right. :) \ / ((^\ -= * =- joan stark \\ \() / \ spu...@juno.com >>/(_.' there is also http://www.evolvefish.com/ which is the company I think
makes them. btw the darwin fish faces right and the evolve fish (same
thing but holding a wrench and says evolve not darwin) faces left.
