To have a dodecahedron look like *that*, you must have rotated it into a fourth spatial dimension. And representing it in 2-D ascii-art? How beautifully ironic! What an artist! that's something that drsquare has been admiring these days...since he lost it ;) "CeeJay" <use...@ceejay.cjb.REMOVEnet> wrote in message news:3c55c3d4$0$213$edf...@dspool01.news.tele.dk... > > >For those among us not gifted with four-dimensional hyperrotational > abilities, > > >here's a 3-D one: > > > > > > _,--"^"--._ > > > ,'\ /`. > > > ,' \_______/ `. > > >| / \ | > > >| / \ | > > >| _/ \_ | > > >\'' `-. ,-' ``/ > > > \ `-._,-' / > > > \ | / > > > `-.._ | _,,-' > > >hjm ``"'' > > > > Are you sure that's a dodecahedron? DRSQUARE... This is offtopic and apart from the jokes. If you can tell me about what you do APART FROM ASCII ART... I could have some offers for you... IF YOU ARE SERIOUS About work. But you have to tell me what you do and NOT be OBNOXIOUS... If you are interested, do reply back ... That only looks like it has 8 sides. A dodecahedron is a 12-sided polyhedron, i.e. a 3-D object with 12 faces. Each face is a pentagon (though mine are a bit skewed because of the perspective). A dodecagon is a 12-sided polygon, i.e. a flat shape with 12 edges. A dodecahedron seen from the side would look the same as one seen from any direction. I assume you meant to draw a dodecagon - though from the side you can't tell that it wasn't a triangle, a fish or a beautiful ascii-art version of the Mona Lisa. If it was, I'd like to congratulate you on the excellently drawn smile. ObAscii: <__> (..)______ (oo) \- \ |---w / L| L| hjm -- Harry Mason ("hjm200.ecs@soton@ac@uk" =~ tr/@./.@/)
-agon (such as pent'agon', oct'agon') -sides. ('oct'-'agon' =
'eight'-'sides')
-polygon , multiple sides!
-hedron (such as octo'hedron', dodeca'hedron') faces. ('dodeca'-'hedron' =
'twelve'-'faces')
-polyhedron , multiple faces!
I hope that clears things up!
(can you draw the shape-net for that dodecahedron?)
res!
