Hehe well I'm JSS :) I'm glad you liked the sig. And yes i do have a bit more
ascii... I don't have the time (or patience) to sit and do a lot ascii. I
prefer to work on larger projects.

Here's something for ya.. I was about to open Notepad (that's where I usually do
ascii) and well... from looking at the notepad icon i had an idea :) Let me
know what you all think :)

Agreed, there were also non-ascii characters in there

"the notepad"? Sorry, I don't have Notepad on this computer. I use

As you can see, the very bottom line is a charater, much
like _ but the line is at the very top of the character,
not the bottom if you see what I mean.

Well, I didn't know there were only certain characters that you were all owed to
use... as for the HTML, my apologies :) I myself am still learning ascii... if
anyone would like to inform me what the difference between "ascii" and
"non-ascii" characters is I would be happy to hear from you.

Well i'm sorry, I didn't know there was such a thing as "non-ascii"
characters... If someone would like to inform me as to the difference between
"ascii" and "non-ascii" characters I would be glad to hear from you. I myself am
still learning ascii, and i would be open to hearing any input. AS for the
HTML, my apologies.

tressa, your pictures are very good. But the problem with using the non
standard characters is that they look different from browser to browser.
Sometimes they get distorted in horrible ways; for instance getting
replaced by more than one character like =20 instead of the one you put.
Here is a chart of the characters you can use:

                      ======================================
                      }       ASCII Character Chart        {

: These characters are almost completely standard, except for a few

ones
: | (bar):

: ^ (caret):

: ~ (tilde):
: appears in the middle of the line in some fonts, at the top in
others
: (this especially can make some pictures look odd)
: ' (apostrophe/single quote):

OK.. its down to GIF files again <g>

<nitpick> =20 is a space, since 20 is hex for 32 which is the ascii

Effectively it all boils down to the characters that a standard keyboard
(typically US character base) can produce when you press a key,
sometimes in conjunction with Shift.

More accurate definitions can also be found in the FAQ's.

Nope, it's just one of many, many shapes in which char #175 (Alt+175 in MS-DOS)
aka Hex-AF exposes itself.

I don't know who JSS is - except that they are someone who
thinks that they can use MY art and put THEIR initials on it!

Granted its a diddle, but I don't think it's enough of a
diddle to to warrant stripping and replacing my initials!

Ppl can use my art ALL they like as long as they pay me
the small courtest of leaving my intitals on. what JSS

Tressa, diddling other people's work is FINE, as long as you give the
original creator credit too. You will be made pretty unwelcome on this
newsgroup if you're going to post your diddles, and slight tweaks of
OTHER PEOPLE'S ascii with YOUR name on them.

Are you just not bright enough to figure out that what you
are doing is really rude, and bound to be found out seeing as
the people in this newsgroup have probably seen EVERY ascii pic
available on the web? Or are you just plain rude?

(and I'm not even going to go into the non-ascii characters,
and the HTML in your post, because it's obviuous that since
you have no aversion to plagiarism, the common courtesy of
reading a newsgroup's FAQ would never occur to you.)

SAME books! not a diddle..

JSS is a ripper-offer of ASCII art--
and the WORST kind-- the kind that takes
credit for other people's work.
Shame on you... and double shame for
being so humble when receiving the compliments
on "your" work.
