Getting re-started

Well, let's pretend that I ignore the odd 'Stien (R) war going on and want to get back into the group. Now then, back in my day, I just did all this stuff with pico, a text editor on my old UNIX shell. Now, alas, I'm back to a PPP account and am tired of wrestling with Notepad to make a pic. Does anyone know of an easier text editor to use for creating ascii art? As in, one that'll allow you free movement with the cursor keys? Thanks plenty.

Windows95: Notepad (Comes with Windows!)
EDIT.COM (Comes with windows!)
MicroEMACS
EditPad
PFE32
UltraEdit (www.ultraedit.com)
TextPad (www.textpad.com - shareware)
Windows3: Notepad (Comes with Windows!)
MicroEMACS
PFE
UltraEdit (www.ultraedit.com)
TextPad (Win95/98) is my favourite - I use it for all of my asciis. It does
free cursor movement and block cutnpaste which is very very useful - and it
does insert/overwrite modes.
