I scrapped the first version of this strip. The third panel
here was originally the last panel, but I thought it was kind
of weak, so I edited out the old third panel (which was mostly
filler anyway) and added a new punchline. And actually, in the
first version I went through a lot of different punchlines, which
all sucked. Nowadays, I actually like the organic feel of just
messing around with stuff until I feel a bit of a spark and go
"Hey, this kinda works" and save it. I used to almost hate that
I didn't have a clear idea of the joke I wanted from the outset,
but now it's just the way I work.
