How to post ASCII art??

hello, everytime I try and post ASCII art it comes out all distorted. I make it
in notepad and it looks fine so I copy and paste it into a new article here and
thenk it looks all messed up. What can i do to fix this? Thank you for your
help.

You've probably got your news reader set to use a proportional font. Change it
to view news with a fixed width font such as Lucida Console or Courier.
