I plan on putting all the responses together... so far, this is
pretty interesting... so many different ways to get similar
results...

In following the thread re: the new FAQ, I started to wonder how other
ASCII artists create their pictures. Perhaps if we share editors/mode,
we might get a little more insight in creating the pictures-- also, Matthew
will have an idea how all the ASCII artists create the pics.. maybe we'll
discover a trend of some type...
So how about it? I'll start:
1. joan stark,
Editor: windows notepad
Font: FixedSys
Mode: Insert
Programs Used: none
Veronica? Joris? Shanaka? Shimrod? Lennert? llizard?
Hayley? Seal? Peter Bier? Glory? Mike Naylor? GreyCloak?
Marie Bird? Zeus? and I'm sure I'm not listing many people-- please
don't take it personally-- I'm getting forgetful in my old age...
I'd like to hear from everyone who's creating the ASCII pics...
I think we will get some interesting results..

Mode: Scroll Lock Key toggles between Insert and Overtype modes so I use both as desired. Programs Used: Only the word processors. I never had any worthwhile results with the GIF to ASCII convertors. Hardware: Until 1997, PC/XT 256k RAM with no graphics...so you _have_ to use Ascii Art. :-) Note: This year I got an updated machine wih Word for Windows 2.0 but I don't use it for Ascii Art work because I would have to use Fixedsys or Courier fonts. I would rather choose Notepad or the MS-DOS Editor if I really lacked alternatives, but I prefer to still use the oldies, PC-Write and PC-Write Lite, with their Non-proportional default fonts and lots of other useful features. Bye,

Probably not the best way to do it - but I changed my Start menu to read
'SMEG!' using a little program called WinHacker - Infortunately it was
shareware and expired, now do I break the law and reset my computer`s
clock, or stay with a Smeg menu instead of a start menu FOREVER!
'Rimmer for Smeg`s Sake' - The two Listers in 'Red Dwarf, The Inquisitor'
And this is SOOO off topic, I`d better repost this:
