So here I go at last. I say this, because I had problems with posting
things... Maybe you can help me with that too. [off-topic, I know] So:
I'm using pine for linux and it allows you to use a fake domain-name. I used
that, because I don't have the nerves to remove all that junk-mail. BUT!
and here comes the problem - I could post to other newsgroups using the
anti-spam address - but not to alt.ascii-art. Can someone tell me why? Or
even how to fix it? [PLEASE HELP ME !!!]

And now for the real thing :) Here are some sig-sized pictures, my first
contribution to the ascii-art society. I hope they're not too bad, though
they mey need some fixing...

`.___;. ='\___.'	dogs (or the left one could even be a cat)
 (~~(' )~~~)

 _
(_),Q,o' an ant (queen?)

          o
|`^"^|__/(\ "working in a coal mine..."
`o~~o' />

.
`.-"-.o angry cat
 ( (

And the sigs here... They were modified from spunk's images. Hope you
don't mind borrowing them :)

But... that cat _does_ have both a head and a tail in its original

The snowman might be jgs, but that tree is mine. :) (but secretly I'm
flattered that anyone might think my stuff was spunk's, so we'll just
pretend I didn't say that ok? :) ) I think some ppl might get upset if
you don't leave artists credits somewhere near the work too: it's the
only recompense we get for making ascii available.

Very nice! Working in a coal mine ? Some kindergartens
use this technique to safely transport their kids to
the next park, playground, etc.

BTW a friend of mine is staying in Budapest for a
short while and did this lately (as a joke) :

 Budapest

     /\ /\ /\
     ||           ||  ||
   /\||/\/\/\/\/\/\|x/\|x/\
   |||||||||||||||||X|||X||
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-------------------XXX------
                   XXX
-------------------XXX------
(Bernd Hellmich)

Maybe you could rediddle it to a more detailed
version, or better make a new one. I'd like
to have a little Ascii Budapest in my collection.
(Great city that is!)

:)
Andreas

the right one is great. :) Looks a bit familiar though, but then again,
half my stuff looks like it's a jgs, mrf, or b'ger mutant at the minute. :)
The one on the left needs a bit more definition around the head, I think.

Cool! I could tell what this was. Two lines! could even be one
line at a push, and that's impressive. :)

Hi,
    Can someone help me please.
I was subscribed to "The Funny Bone" and they said to use " "typewriter"
font such as Courier, FixedSys, or Monaco."
Through a stroke of 'bad luck', (we shall call it), I now no longer have
these fonts and (if it matters, I'm am now with stuck using IE's Outlook
Express for viewing newsgroups and emails).
Can anyone tell me where I can get any of these fonts to view the Ascii
art at its best or is there another font that you can recommend that is
possible to use with this darn Outlook Express??
Thanks in advance.
Chr...@cranium.co.nz

If you have gotten many recent posts, there is one that links to Topaz New,
which is a monospaced (typewriter) font.

The Courier New font should be somewhere on your Windows 95 CD, considering
that it *is* a default Windows font. Or are you not on a 95-box?

Wonderfull! Maybe this should be in the 'how to start in asciiart'
tutorial, showing how changing one single character can completely
change the whole pic.

Try re-installing WHIMDOZE and you should be all back to (?) normal viewing
