Also, if your default font is not a monospaced like Courier New, you will
not be able to read it.

Tools menu | Options | Read | Fonts

Change "Proportional Font" from whatever it is to "Courier New" or your
favorite MONOSPACED font.

sigh.

So others can see your nice picture, I replaced your boxes with O's,
your trademark with an asterix, and your crosses with +'s.

What is that thing in the water supposed to be? (Besides the boat.)

Just a reminder, the rules are:

* use a font where all characters have the same width.

* use an editor rather than a word processor.

* don't use any "national letters" or any other "strange" characters
that may be interpreted differently by different computers (or even
different programs in one computer)

* very wide pictures can get destroyed by programs that put in a "CR"
when it feels that the line should end. This makes the picture look very
strange, sometimes it even becomes impossible to tell what it is
supposed to look like.

* don't use tabs (because they too are interpreted differently by
different computers/programs)

Here is an ascii table of standard characters:

Perhaps the FAQ ought to be posted more regularly...
once a week? I'm not capable of posting long
posts (something must be wrong with my system-or
AOL- or both)... and Matthew will be gone for several
months... Colin will you be posting it? I think we need
a volunteer to post this thing on a regular basis...
If someone wants to.. and doesn't have the faq--
It can be found at:

I would be happy to post the faq as often as u like as i read this
ng every day and can post that often if needed.Just send me a copy
(verbatim) of what you want me to post.and tell me how often you want it
posted.
Now having said i would post the faq the question is,am i right for
it.What i mean is;My news server is morenews.inspace.net and i know tha
i do not see all of the posts that come across this ng.I know this
because i see replys to posts i havent seen b4,like the current thread
about bart and the cp2 stuff.Knowing that i dont see evrery post would
leed me to think that not everyone will see mine.therefore not everyone
will see the faq when i post it maybe.
      let me know

I don't know. Try looking in in Outlook Express manual. A menu
item called Options|Fonts might be a good place to start.....

I've already posted it once here in the newsgroup in place of
the Barger and Scarecrow older FAQs.

I think you commented that your website reference copy was incorrect
in the New Faq. I've corrected that so it will appear in the next
posting...the latest posting by me should still be here in the newsgroup
unless it has already expired at your Access Site.
