Hi
I am very new to ascii art etc, so please be patient
Someone sent me an email with a signature like this
-::- ))
. .)
((. .. -::-
-::- ((.* Helen* .. )) -::-
. .))
((. .. -::-
-::- ((.*
Does this type of art have a name? Where can I find other examples?
I've search the net but can only find ascii pictures. I'm not sure what
words to put into the search engine to find this sort of thing
Many thanks
Helen

Told you so. Slightly edited for still more fluidity.

Where can I find other examples? I've given up trying to work out what it's called. Having looked down jgs's and a:f's lists, the best I can come up with is 'swirly thing'. BTW, it isn't technically ascii art, because it contains some non-ascii characters (like and ). On my system these appear as a central dot and a slanted quote, but they may look different on systems with another character set. This is why ascii art only uses a small range of characters - because they are standard in just about all character sets. > I've search the net but can only find ascii pictures. I'm not sure what > words to put into the search engine to find this sort of thing There are a few on Joan Stark's homepage at http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/7373/ . You might find some more on the Webring (linked from there). I can't find anything on search engines either :( Anyone in the group feel like drawing some? Or working out what to call them? -- Harry Mason ("hjm200.ecs@soton@ac@uk" =~ tr/@./.@/)

I belong to a group that call these kind of art drawings Macros...some call
then the new ASCII..they are made using the ALT keys...I have bunches of art
made like this using theses keys and many more of the Alt keys...heres a list
of the alt keys and some more art like that...Hope this helps..
Use Arial font, hold down the Alt key, and use the numeric pad on the right
side of your comeputer, not the ones at the top...
Hope they post right here :)...I had many more...lol
