Sorta like Andreas page, but catagorical instead of alphabetacal. Scott, I would like to put up some stuff there but hardly any of my art fits any of your catagories. Please expand the scope of your index and add some more "other" subparts. It might also help if you have a number beside the catagories that tells howmany entryies are there. No, I think Veronica's perfectly right. I doubt that he'll get many artists to spend their time uploading their pictures. What for? There are a lot of collections already, eg the huge _catagorical_ collection by Paul Norgaard http://www.duc.auburn.edu/~norgapd/ And I simply don't like the word 'database'. I'd prefer a gallery anytime. From my experience I can say that via Allan Mullan's link list http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/2695/links.htm you can find almost any piece of art easily - if you care. Andreas P.S. Sometimes I believe that alt.asc-art is seen as a social service for people in need of a picture. It's not. And some people seem to believe that the artists are longing for better promotion of their pictures. Hrmf! It's 'Allen Mullen' of course! Sorry. :) And btw, does anyone use my gateway to dejanews? http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/~freise/ascii/ocollections.html It's more or less the search filter for *ascii* groups. Not until now (nice!). Sometimes when I look over the requests here, it makes me wonder how many would be redundant when the requester would have typed '<subject> ascii art' in e.g. Alta Vista, or use a query at Deja News or service like yours. It's all out there folks, the quality of such queries are usually of a good quality and your wishes can be fulfilled almost immediately, by yourself. -- Lennert Stock lst...@lstock.demon.nl ASCII Art Hideout! http://www.lstock.demon.nl/aas.html

Hmm.. they don't bother me at all in Lynx.. =) What does bother me are all those GeoId cookies they keep giving me. Lynx asks for confirmation before accepting cookies from a site, and it ruins my type-ahead. I pay them back by allowing them at random about 50% of the time. [snip] Grrrr! I loathe and despise those popups. (They have caused my Netscape to crash a couple of times.) I have instead opted for the hulking great ad at the top of each page. (I'm in the process of adding it and have got to most of the pages now.) Now if anyone goes to any of my ascii-art pages or animation pages, there shouldn't be any popups. Just curious, if the ad is at the top of the page, does GeoCities still try to send cookies?
