Aidan! Thanks a lot for your replying!
So you don't even see this start image? But you can see just an empty
space (between the name of this ascii and bottom linksbar)? Am I
right?

What browser do you use? Asciimator has been tested only for IE yet...
And I'd like very much to know about other browsers too... So, keep in
touch please!

P.S. For JavaScript programmers:
I used "document.all.IDTAG.innerText" function to paste the ascii
images inside <div></div> container... Does it work correctly with all
browsers or not? Also I used StyleSheet "position:absolute" parameter.

I tried with Mozilla v 1.3 and the space where the ascii was supposed to be
was blank.

I'm guessing that the innerText property is non-DOM compliant and thus
only available in IE's DHTML model. You're probably better off using
TEXTAREAs. However, you might want to try using
    document.getElementById('IDTAG').innerText
instead, as that would be more conformant with the standard.

After some googling, I came up with this allegedly DOM compliant example.
I haven't tried it.

    document.getElementById("counter").childNodes[0].nodeValue = x;
    // - note that for this to work, the div must already have a child node.
    // - Otherwise, you'll get an error.

By "child node" he means any content at all. "counters" is of course
the ID of his div.

It doesn't work with Netscape 4.8, but works with IE5.5.

The document.all. is certainly a Internet Explorer only "feature". Use
document.getElementById('IDTAG'). The innerText property also causes
problems. You may want to try using innerHTML instead.

It does work with Opera 8.0beta1. However, all animations look kinda like
this:

(tvset broken)
'\ /`
\ /
-----\/---
i\.--------'.
|\| .-----,#|
|\| |/////|:|
|\| |/////|;|
\! `-----' !
"--------"

It's all squashed to the left side of the box.
The Asciimator logo too suffers from that same problem.

| (_| \__ \ (__| | | | | | | | (_| | || (_) | |
\__,_|___/\___|_|_|_| |_| |_|\__,_|\__\___/|_|

something else that i have noticed, the |go back| link looks like this:

|
go back|

but on mouseover, it looks as intended:

<go back>

The other links (the orange ones) do look right.
the solution for that solution would be to set the nowrap attibute on the
tablecell where that "go back" link is.

Perhaps installing Opera AND Firefox could show you a few other problems.

P.S. Using OPera, i have seen other ASCII-animations that use Java, and
they look the way they were intended. So the problem must be in the code.

 Dear Joaquim!
 Thanks a lot for your advize! It was very helpful. I realized the
 asciimator engine totally with NODES. No innerText, No innerHTML now.
 (=

 And asciimator became available to Mozilla and Opera!

 (But instead of
 document.getElementById("counter").childNodes[0].nodeValue = x;
 I used
 document.getElementById("counter").childNodes[0].data = x;
 And all works!)
