 Part of the appeal to ASCII art is the limited medium it is. Making such 
depictions from ordinary keyboard characters shows a lot of creativity and

We don't make real picture because using the keys is an art in itself.
But of cause, only clever ppl can make ascii art. Not YOU for instance.

ASCII doesn't suck, It's a good way to use standard chars and it
has some creative potency.
But there will always be people who want everything spelled out for them
simply because they don't have any imagination.

I like ascii pics, and I do not give a damn about any other's 
opinion about Ascii pics... as a matter of fact, I think GIF pics 
suxx (unless...)

So is Picaso realistic? It's considered art. The point of art is to be
creative, if all art was "realistic" then it would be pretty bloody
boring. Reach out and do something different. Anyway, if you didn't like
ascii _ART_ then stay the hell out of the NG (as mentioned above).
Personally I think ascii art is very creative. With your "realistic"
pictures, all you have to do is copy something in "real life". But ascii,
you must be creative, to make the thing you are drawing seem life like (or
cartoon like) using the ascii characters.
