Just for you...to save space I will zipfile the first 7 postings,
uuencode the zipfile and then post it to the newsgroup:

        alt.ascii-art.animation

UUencoded files are acceptable in that newsgroup which was created
to allow posting of Ascii animations made using ANSI escape codes
which required UUencoding before posting to the newsgroup.

The group does not have much traffic now. Those old ascii animations
ran best on old slow PC/XT machines with a clock speed of 4.7Mhz and
they now need slowmo programs like MOSLO to slow down COMMAND.COM on
Pentiums, running at Gazillions of Mhz, if those old animations are
to be viewed successfully...otherwise they are just a single flash
of light on the screen.

Look for the file: ANNIVERSARY.ZIP ( 1 to 7 ) in alt.ascii-art.animation

Bye,

Yes, I agree Pete, we have an idiot in our midst. <Tries to keep fist from
monitor.> AND TALENTLESS ISN'T A WORD! Who is the moron here, Tweeter?

Wow! And idiotic newcomer has joined us!

Thanks for sending what you have of ascii. After that first glut of
posts you should be able to read through the group and still get to
bed before you become a zombie. :)

Some of the ascii artists have home pages or galleries for their art.
I recommend Joan's page which you can find in her sig easily. Also,
Hayley's page which is not as easy to find as she doesn't post as
often. http://www.xs4all.nl/~klr

You can also look at the search engines and search for ascii art.
Yahoo has a category for it with the figlet pages too.

Have fun, hope you will make some tries at your own ascii,

Laura

And to visit the 'rest' of the ASCII art pages,
visit here:
http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/2695/links.htm

This ought to be the most updated list of ASCII
art links on the internet.

Please let me know if any good sites have been
omitted.

I like this one very much!

This is what I call a good parody on Pete's work!
If only the insults would be a bit less...

It passed through my chat (which can be used as a "purity test" for
ascii art since it only "lets through" the characters 32-126, plus
newlines) just fine. :)

Here's a collection of files on the subject (if you look at the dates
you'll see that they are not new...):

http://www.ludd.luth.se/~vk/pics/ascii/junkyard/creative/3D/

(and I seem to recall that Randy Gardner got quite fascinated by them
too. You could have a look in http://www.dejanews.com/ and see if you
can find any of his work there... and Ilmari Karonen has made some
too...)

The idea sounds cool, but after a while one realises that they aren't
particularly good... :(

Try Dejanews (URL above) for that...

That's because Tweeter stole the pic from me, two more thefts today
