Well, two dumb questions actually.

One - how do you pronounce ascii?

Two - is it customary to use other people's art for sig files, etc?  I 
see a lot of people requesting / seeming to offer their art.  I saw a
heart recently that I loved and I put it in my sig file... is this cool
or not?

I'm loving looking at this stuff - thanks to all of you for sharing it!

Not a dumb question....I problems pronounce it myself
ascii - as key

I don't see anything wrong with it, but I could be wrong too.
Just make sure you leave the initials, name, or what ever to give the
person credit.

Most people don't mind, providing you keep their initials on the art.

It's cool, isn't it?  I have to admit, I'm really amazed at some of the
things the regulars here come up with.  I'm nowhere near that standard
myself - this elephant I made is about the best I can manage!

The first vowel looks okay to me. It's the last that seems wrong. I
think it's pronounced as a long "e" as in:

No, I thnik that's actually a short vowel (at least that's the way all
my programming teachers, including the American ones, have said it).

(about the first vowel, I changed that after making that post. I had an
"upside down v" there first... and yes, I did pass that stupid phonetics
exam. Wow! I never expected to actually get some use for that stuff, at
least not this soon...)

Though no expert (and I'm sure the rest of the NG will pick me up if I'm
wrong) it is OK to use it if you acknowledge the author by using their
initials within the art, and if you don't know the original author, say
so. Also, it is obviously polite and good manners to ask first if you DO
know the originator, and then abide by their reply.

It's great! There are many talents in here. Personally, I can't do this
stuff to save my life, but I really enjoy looking at it all. (Including
the Frogstein & Birdstein thread - good or bad - it's all free
expression - isn't that what the Internet is all about?)
