It's the talent for outline drawing. Joan has taken it to immense heights. I feel like I want to say that you are very close behind, but that's an unfair understatement. When outline drawing gets this good, it does become hard to tell apart - especially when your subject matter is similar. Good is good. >guess I'm a bloody copycat. :) Don't I wish. Admitted, the surfin santa was a little dotty--
that happens when I force the characters to fit the
pic... I found a similar picture in a book and thought
that it would make a good ASCII... well, if you can
the shorts on him, that is... :P

There may be similarities, but Haley draws things differently enough to be able to differentiate from Joan's work. One day I'll have to sit down and work out what makes peoples work distinctive.
