   The GIF to ASCII is eany, there are a number of them.  As to PCX, I 
would guess you'd have to use some kind of viewer on your platform to 
convert PCX to GIF, then use a GIF to ASCII converter.

   My ftp.wwa.com has some converters in pub/Scarecrow in the Gifscii and 
Misc folders.  Also see the ASCII ART FAQ for further info on obtaining 
these converters, and on using them.  The FAQ is available in three 
versions (including one for the Web), and is available from newsgroups, FTP, 
Gopher, WWW, finger, email (see the header of this post).
