hi,
does anyone around here have any experiences in
programming the aalib? I would like to try writing
a converter from mpeg to ascii. But all my simplest
programs resultet in strange error messages from the
linker. What I need is a simple piece of code (which
for example only draws a line on the screen or so) and
a working Makefile...
thx, koem
ps: for everyone who doesn't know what the hell I'm
talking about: download xaos at
http://www.paru.cas.cz/~hubicka/XaoS/download.html
and press v 4 4 (this is how you do it in the linux
version) to change to aa-driver and begin to cry. :)

Sorry I can;t help with that but if you can tell me what your makefile looks like and/or what you execute to compile. James -- Lister: It's just a box with "STOP" and "START" on it! Holly: Fairly straightforward. If you want to start it, press "START." You can work out the rest of the controls ^-^-^-@@-^-^-^ for yourself. (..)

You may need to recompile SDL with aalib support. http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/ http://www.libsdl.org/ -- Harry Mason ("hjm200.ecs@soton@ac@uk" =~ tr/@./.@/)
