But try to make an electron cloud dot pictures on the INTERNET is too difficult. I again plea for anyone to make electron cloud dot pictures ascii art. The below are useful texts to refer to electron cloud dot pictures. INTRODUCTION TO ATOMIC SPECTRA by Harvey White 1934. It is a shame they do not print this book any longer. On page 71 it shows twenty four pictures of hydrogen electron clouds. One of them is the 5f6, the one which looks like a human being or two humans close together. For the first time, humanity can draw a picture likeness of our Maker. One thing is sure of the drawing, it will be symmetrical. The book QUANTA by Atkins 1991 page 119 shows f orbitals shapes. A drawer would have to do a dot pattern. PHYSICS part 2 Halliday & Resnick Extended Version 1986 page 572 with enlarged view of nucleus. I would want also an enlarged view of the Solar System as dots with the Sun as the biggest dot and Jupiter the next largest. Such a dot picture would have to get the Solar System in correct still picture pattern which is difficult to do in ascii-art due to the constraints of the keyboard. And an artist would do an enlarged dot picture of the night sky showing the Dippers and Sirius, Betelgeuse, etc. as part of the 5f6. Journal of Chemical Education Vol 65 Number 1 Jan 1988 pages 31-33 "Order out of Chaos:Shapes of Hydrogen Orbitals" by G.L.Breneman. These pictures are perhaps good as a summary of shapes. 5th edition 1991 Chemistry the Central Science by Brown, LeMay, Bursten pages 188-189 for good electron cloud dot pictures. Principles of Modern Chemistry by Oxtoby, Nachtrieb 1990 2nd edition page 504 has angular and radial parts of wavefunction for one-electron atoms. For those math inclined can see where I pulled the nodes from in my crude ascii-art drawing. Then from pages 505-507 contains good electron cloud dot pictures. I hope the above is enough to get some artists to do their interpretation of the 5f6. Anyone doing art work of the 5f6, please put your name or initials in the corner so that when others copy paste your work that you have the credit. The result may not be prefect, but it will be a good starting point. Post that on a.a-a and I expect someone will rise to the challenge of hand-diddling the thing to look good. If something has electrons up to 5f6, it is probably a metal, and the outer electrons all part of the conduction band. Unless it is hydrogen I don't think we have an exact theory about orbital shapes - we have to do Hartree- Fock (?sp) -type calculations, so there are interesting possibilities of other energy minima with (say) dodecahedral symmetry that our iterations have never found. You know what Plutonium ? You might just have to settle for your
own version of this 94th Electron. The ascii-artists do not seem
interested in hydrogen electron clouds.
Your picture doesn't look too bad to me but rather lacking in symmetry.

I like it. The trouble in making electron cloud dot pictures is that the dots are all patterned. There is no randomness or continuity, just like the atom totality, all is in place and constrained. I have tried in my mind to see if I this computer art disallows the making of a nearly exact Solar System to scale with the planets in correct distance to scale and place in orbit, as part of the picture of the front cover of my book. Your 94th Electron was much better.
In considering your ascii Solar System you would be wise to restrict
yourself to a matrix no more than 75 columns wide by 25 rows deep.
This will almost fill an older type 80 x 25 monitor screen and the
75 width will avoid the possibility of picture distortions due to
linewrapping.
So there you have it - a 75 x 25 rectangle to plan your Solar
System. It will not be easy to get exact relationships between
relative planet sizes, positions and distances - but there's the
challenge - go to it !!
