I did create the flag itself, but by putting my signature on the above pic, in the context of a tribute to Diana, you are in effect putting words into my mouth. I never posted or intended to post a tribute to her. I can see that you wanted to post the Diana stuff with the proper credits for the pics used and had you asked if you could use the flag like this I would not have objected. In most cases I don't mind anything I've done being used in other pics, but in this post it looks like you've compiled a collection of tributes others have posted to the ng (which some have done), especially with a thread named like other collections that you've compiled. I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment, I'm just pointing out that in this case it looks like I'm saying something that I never said. Sometimes I use "DrS/A. Diddle" to signify an un-named diddler. Sometimes I add a footnote like [ Original artwork by DrS ] Sometimes...if it is a major change of picture...I use only my own name ( cfbd ). Now...the crunch question is what do you want me to do to make amends for my misdemeanour with your Welsh Flag ? Post an apology to every newsgroup in which my compilation of flags as a tribute to Princess Diana has been posted over the past few days ? Perhaps " Original picture of Welsh Flag by Dr S...lowered to half-mast by cfbd " ? Would that do ? Then of course I'll get lots of flak for re-posting apologia in the relevant newsgroups. *8-) Please respond here in alt.ascii-art newsgroup and tell me what I must do to make amends apart from this public apology to you. (Had I been posting more frequently you may have easily found it :) ) It's hardly a chore though, to delete .nospam (or whatever) from an address if mailing someone, it's a pretty obvious spam-blocker. I agree. It is the perculiar nature of ascii-art that makes it easy to change a pic (or an 'artist work' as some would have it :) ) and repost it. And just how much of a change makes it a different pic?
