In most cases I don't mind OK. My apologies for the diddle of your original Welsh Flag below: ___ (_ _) | |____....----....____ _ | |\ . .~~~~---~~ | | | | __\\ /(/( . | | | | <--= '|/_/_( /| | | | | }\~) | / _(./ ..| | | |.:::::::\\/ --...::::::| | | |:::::::::\//::\\__\:::::::::| | | |::::::::_//_:_//__\\_:::::::| | | |::::::::::::::::::::::::::::| | |/:::''''~~~~'''':::::::::::::'~ | | DrS ~~~~~ I had been trying to remember who "DrS" actually was and although I searched my archives I could not find your real name or your email address. I now realise, too late, you were in Daniel Au's Net Surfers Licence collection. Even so it is doubtful that I would have contacted you to ask permission to fly your Welsh Flag at half-mast. In fact any email which bounces back to me I do not attempt to re-send, and, I see that you use a spam-blocker in your address for that purpose, so my emails to you would probably have bounced and I simply abandon such munged addresses nowadays. The downside is that one then has to go public in the newsgroups...and...be more careful what you say. :-) However, I readily confess to being a Diddler of other people's artwork. As a Diddler who has done a diddle it is then always difficult to know what to do about accreditation. Sometimes I leave the original intact ( as in your case ) because it seemed a minor diddle to move the flag down to half-mast with no other change. Sometimes I use "After/DrS" to indicate a diddle. Sometimes I use "DrS/A. Diddle" to signify an un-named diddler. Sometimes I add a footnote like [ Original artwork by DrS ] Sometimes...if it is a major change of picture...I use only my own name ( cfbd ). Now...the crunch question is what do you want me to do to make amends for my misdemeanour with your Welsh Flag ? Post an apology to every newsgroup in which my compilation of flags as a tribute to Princess Diana has been posted over the past few days ? Perhaps " Original picture of Welsh Flag by Dr S...lowered to half-mast by cfbd " ? Would that do ? Then of course I'll get lots of flak for re-posting apologia in the relevant newsgroups. *8-) Please respond here in alt.ascii-art newsgroup and tell me what I must do to make amends apart from this public apology to you. Bye,
