Certainly I know what a kantele is. It's sort of a primitive zither. Your askii version seems
to have some non-standard characters in it, though. Try this one:

Sort of. A block zither, to be precise. The difference obviously being that
it's made of a single solid block of wood.

There's more to it than that - I think a "concert kantele" is constructed
differently or something like that - but it's been years since I last read
anything about those things. I suppose a web search for "kantele" plus a
few suitable qualifiers should turn up something useful.
