a collector's question

Hi,

after putting up my homepage with an Ascii collection several 
visitors suggested to change the way I organized it.

Now I wonder what you think, what you prefer.

I call mine the dictionary style : one file per keyword. 
So you can't read it like a book and you can't entertain yourself
by scrolling through one huge file. I don't do that very
often anyway. I found it to be more useful as an archive
this way. No?

It is a lot of fun to scroll through a big file... but no fun to wait 
for a huge file to load, especially if Netscape runs out of memory.  
What could be nice is subject headings (or letter headings, since you're 
already alphabetized), and have one file per letter or subject with all 
the pictures in that file.  At the top of each subject page, have a 
linked table of contents.  Joan's page is set up like this, and it 
captures the best of both worlds... you can still get to a specific 
picture quickly, but you can still browse easily.

True. But I think it fits the personal collection
much better than a general one. AND these big files
are more work. :)
