"One of the best things on Usenet" is kind of over the top, so I didn't really take that seriously. But when you juxtapose those with something that sounds honest and even has a smiley next to it, that's enough to make a person believe in Christmas! I truly look forward to reading Nerd Boy...I used to look forward to reading Art Fart too...I guess I may not be the best judge of these sort of things... ;-) >Bah, humbug! :) Gotta go with you on that one!

It wasn't an accusation, it was an extenuating circumstance. I can accept praise as long as it's rather ambivalent. If it's too high praise, it just gets embarrassing. For example, I'm much more inclined to believe someone enjoyed themselves if they say "Hey man, your singing sucks! ;)" rather than "I really thought for a minute that I was hearing the original cast from Chess!" (real example by the way; I was singing Anthem) Sarcasm just feels more genuine to me than smarmy stock phrases. obascii: No ma-a-a-an, no maadness, though their sad power may prevail, can possess, conquer my country's heart!
