Just a diddle of my own leaning tower. More signature-like, even
though it is still too large.

Thats not a tower. That is a startling piece of modern art depicting
the social problems caused by toxic waste in a modern society.

Well maybe not but in addition to a tower it looks like a 50 gallon
drum that they use to store toxic materials in.

Aha. That's why nobody recognizes it. Probably this (old)
version cannot be mistaken for anything "modern" so easily.

I think you could have gotten away with the old version if you had
included some buildings around it to show that it is a tower and not
just a 'thing' sticking out of some plane. How about some buildings
around this one?

Well, non-Ascii people did not recognize it at all.
I was just trying to find an easy-to-see version. Did
not work though: Now, the same people recognize
it but like - in retrospsect - the first version better.

To Faux_Pseudo: have you seen the original tower?
Apart from the fact that it is not so impressive in
itself, the surrounding buildings take away much of the
effect. It just looks like architecture gone wrong.
Whereas such a leaning tower on an open piazza...

To be honest. I think both versions are no good.
You are trying to put too must detail in 1 small ASCII-
pic. You were always good at small-ASCII, but these
leaning towers are just 'loose' ensembles of ASCII-chars.

Perhaps when you take the (larger) easy-to-see version and
fill it in with a repetition of architectural motifs it
might work. If you are not capable of doing the Pisa-tower
in small-ASCII, no-one else can. Maybe llizard... or Felix
Lee... or someone new I do not know.
