Limited quoting from copyrighted material is permitted in the big outside world. Quoting from Usenet postings, which are all de facto copyrights to the authors, is permitted without limitation. But it is bad practice to quoting an entire message and then just add a single "Me Too" at the end. > I'm sick of this already. Not as sick of it as many in this newsgroup have become since Casso arrived in alt.ascii-art...you have not been here to see the everlasting Stein War episodes over the past 2 years. It is actually quite remarkable to look back and see that the present outbreak arose from my History article in my 5th Anniverary postings in September crediting Casso as creator of the Steins. He chose to take what I had written as an insult and things have just worsened since then. So...if you personally don't like the heat then stay out of the kitchen. The above pic show Frogsteins, several people have said that too, so
acknowledgement where acknowledgement is due, isn't it so, Colin?
You have removed the acknowledgement for the 5th time now.

It's still there, Mr.Casso...look, look, look... "(C) 1998 Lester - AMC" clear as day for everyone to see unless they choose not to see it or ignore it or remove it and/or distort it like you Mr. Casso. Apologies though, I think I miscounted...the last time was actually the 4th time only. This will make it the 5th time I have needed to remove your uncalled-for, unwarranted tampering with Lester's picture by adding your own attributes yourself without justification. Just more ongoing Casso objectionable behaviour which you claim has reduced since Tweeter departed...strange I have not noticed any such reduction. Perhaps you have put yourself in your killfile and so you are no longer seeing your obnoxious postings? Let me assure you Mr.Casso your postings are still there and are seen by all those who have not put you into their killfiles hoping against hope that you will go away. You would no doubt be in "Cassotopia" or "PKwaland" if everyone would killfile you so that you could post whatever garbage you chose to post into this newsgroup totally unchallenged. Rest assured, I for one will never meet your request to killfile you and give you a Blank Cheque (aka Notepad Editor ) in this newsgroup. Observantly,

Why? You know very well why. You have been told why innumerable times. Because I, for one, will never ignore your deliberate and blatant falsehoods like the ones you have written above. To ignore them simply ensures, without any possible doubt, that you will continue to repeat them in the same way in the future just as you have repeatedly done in the past here. Immmediately something offends you then your "peace pact" also immediately dissolves. We've seen it all before Mr. Casso, ad nauseam. Nope, the archived records of your postings show exactly what you wrote, inclusive of your request that I correct my article on Ascii Art History by editing out what you regarded as "offending words". Do you think your public postings are not available any longer? Think again...they give the lie to what you are saying now and they are available at www.dejanews.com and in people's private archives. Does the above formulation not contain disparaging words? -> The 'steins are cartoons (encompassing pics, naming, story lines) and not a subgenre of anything else. The 'steins are cartoons with their own unique style. The simplest neutral wording here, is "Pete Casso created the 'steins." -> The cow collection is generally known as such, but you compared the 'steins with the "Silly Cows" ^^^^^ Perhaps you may want to edit out the offending words. On a more fundamental note, I don't think that you can compare the 'steins which are cartoons, with the cows, etc which are basically picture collections (with perhaps with the occasional cartoon in them.) I think you need to compare apples with apples, i.e. cartoons with cartoons. You compared in the above quote apples with oranges, i.e. cartoon with picture collections, but I am nevertheless curious, what measures did you take in making your comparisons in the above quote? I was not aiming at comparisons but showing that other subgenres of Ascii Art characters have appeared in the past. No one seems to have mentioned them previously in historical notes about alt.ascii-art. >You compared in the above quote apples with oranges, i.e. cartoon >with picture collections, but I am nevertheless curious, what >measures did you take in making your comparisons in the above quote? See above. I was not intentionally making comparisons. I posted this article on recent ascii art history on 17th August, in advance of its inclusion in this Anniversary posting. There were one or two comments from people at that time but I think you must have missed seeing my August 17 posting...that happens with the known unreliability of Net propogation. So you failed to comment on my article at that time. However, had you done so, I would probably have answered you in a similar way. But the fact is, that you did make the comparisons. You did make comparisons between two entirely different things, cartoons and picture collections. As always, comparing apples and oranges is invalid, and the best proof in this case is, that you failed to produce the measures that you have used for making the comparisons. > Not really, they were not intended or written to be offensive. The fact is, that the (invalid) comparisons were offensively written. For example, you referred to a single dictionary that happens to use the name "Silly Cows" whereas the whole world knows them simply as the "Cows" collection. You chose to use the offensive adjective for making the comparison. You made invalid comparisons that were offensively written, and then refused to at least use neutral wording. Wow! But you behave strangely irrational lately, and not just to me. In a parallel thread, you violated copyrights which is in itself a strange occurrence. Even stranger is that you then produced irrational "reasonings" ... just like here in this thread. Perhaps you should get some rabies shots ... P UncleColinstein got mad ... e / t / No wonder!
