Wow... discovered this only on second reading... wonderful detail! Fits
perfectly with his character, too.
Also, I love the parallel with 340 (*is* that the one? I thought there was
an episode that was more 'conversational'...) where Nerd Boy says he doesn't
like winter. (Being able to search for dates on your site would be nice...
or even on keywords.)

Did you notice someone has been 'hacking' your rating system? :-( I hope
you have them in a database and can delete all votes in a certain period...
do you check for multiple votes from one IP address?

Thanks. Nice work on the snipping, and thanks for reading my strip twice. :)

You seem to mean NB292: http://www.nerd-boy.net/292
I also need to search my site sometimes, and since Google apparently
has my whole website indexed, I just go there:
http://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.nerd-boy.net

> Did you notice someone has been 'hacking' your rating system? :-(

Yes. I imagined it would happen sooner or later. It actually
happened much later than I thought it would, which is rather
sad, seeing how people have actually been using that feature.

No. It's all screwed now.

> do you check for multiple votes from one IP address?

No, I'm working on a new system that does that. I'll add a
date to each vote too, since you mentioned it. Seems like
a good feature in case someone cheats blatantly, like this
time. However, all the current votes will be erased in the
process.

OK. I hate swimming. I sink like a stone or some kind of
very heavy rock-like substance. And don't get me started
on how gross it is to swim in lakes. Did you know they
keep all kinds of animals and insects loose in nature?!

Wow, I just didn't find that one funny at all. I thought it was
a good summer episode about nothing in particular, and a nice
reprise of the flying Nerd Boy routine. I'm glad you liked it.

Of course. All worship the wonder that is google. You never did a strip
about google, did you? (No, I won't google for 'google' just now.)

Or maybe do a back-up now and then, which is probably a lot more
space-efficient than saving a date for each vote.

First off, sorry for following up to myself.

One I still like the best (and was reminded of because of the seasons thing)
is episode 71. (Found with google :-) )
I also 'found' that you didn't do one about spring yet... (couldn't remember
one either). I wonder how symmetric Nerd Boy is in this respect. We'll
probably have to wait another 3/4 year for that, which is good, because they
seem to be spaced rather apart so far.

So I did it now. You didn't. :-)

Probably, but I would have to remember to back-up the database,
which I wouldn't. I'll opt for the lazy, space-consuming version.
It's not that much data anyway.

Thanks, that's indeed a nice one. A bit of trivia: The tree is based
on a sketch my younger brother did on a whiteboard while he was doing
his practical working experience program at my workplace.

Btw, remember the winter version?
http://www.nerd-boy.net/121

I have to say my all-time favourite is this one though.
I found it again when you mentioned NB340.

Not very, if you take NB121 in account. I make seasonal episodes
now and then, no special system to it.

I have been toying with the fact that Google has one of the biggest
computer clusters in the world. Not only that, they're optimized for
database operations. What happens if you add some Bayesian reasoning
or just plain logic inference to that?
