The US Bill of Rights.

- Amendment I
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the government for a redress of grievances."

The Bush Administration, though it's support for so-called faith-based
initiatives, has violated the spirit and the ;etter of the First Amendment.
This is no small matter, for in our system of governemt all groups are
entitled equal rights. Want to see your tax dollars supporting Muslim,
Buddhist and Mormon groups?

- Amendment II
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Despite pleas from law enforcement at all levels, the Bush Administration
allowed rules pertaining to assault weapons to lapse in a lblatant effort to
pander to gun manufacturers and the NRA.

- Amendment III
"No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the
consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by
law."

Unfortunately, the Bush Administration and those preceding it have pretty much
abandoned "the troops", leaving them without proper medical, social and
economic support. That this has been done to _wounded_ American soldiers is a
disgrace. That Bush, who went AWOL like the coward he is, used a bunch of
lying scoundrels to denegrate the heroics of a true war hero, John Kerry, in
order to ensure a second term as Idiot in Chief, is despicable.

- Amendment IV
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and
effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated,
and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or
affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the
persons or things to be seized."

Bush has ordered surreptitious wire taps against innocent American citizens at
home and abroad. His administration has so violated the Fourth Amendment as
to render it inoperative. The excuse is that they're fighting "Al Quadi and
other extremists" but they're really trying to run a dictatorship. Someone
has said that the primary distinction between dictatorships and free
democratic governements is that in a democracy government has a hard time
collecting information about the people and the people find it easy to see
what government is doing. Further, in a dictatorship government spies on the
people but the people have difficulty discovering what government is doing.
The Bush II Administration is by far the most secretive in all US history, far
worse than Nixon. Even the Congress is unable to get information on Bush's
lawbreaking.

- Amendment V
"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime,
unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising
in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time
of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense
to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any
criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life,
liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property
be taken for public use, without just compensation."

The Bush Administration has taken foreign nationals prisoner, transported them
to American soil and held them for years without benefit of legal counsel or
opportunity to have charges read to them. Furthermore, the Bush
administration has tortured hundreds, possibly thousands of prisoners --
violating international law and every sense of decency. In the process, this
Administration has virtually guaranteed that sooner or later we will face a
terrorist attack that will kill millions of Americans.

- Amendment VI
"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy
and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the
crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously
ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the
accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have
compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the
assistance of counsel for his defense."

See comments regarding Amendment V above.

- Amendment VII
"In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty
dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a
jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than
according to the rules of the common law."

This one he seems to have left intact. I guess he missed.

- Amendment VIII
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel
and unusual punishments inflicted."

See Amendment V above.

- Amendment XII
"The electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for
President and Vice-President...."

In 2000 Bush stole the election. The people elected Gore.
