Just like there's no reason for you to come into a new newsgroup without
first reading the FAQ for that group.

> and another thing... I dont like your old school bullshit ascii,

If you had read the FAQ you would have realised that that "old school
bullshit ascii" is what we do here - and everything else is concidered
off-topic spam. If you want to show other kinds of text art, please find
some other forum for that because this newsgroup is not what you are
looking for.

So? At least the frogs are on-topic for this group and the "Veronica"
bit is _readable_ (which is more than I can say for your stuff).

> you prolly know nothing of the ansi scene on Efnet or what used to be..

If you're so old and experienced, how come you don't know about the
basic netuquette of reading FAQs before posting? (I hope you realise
that by this statement of yours you lose any claim of newbie stupidity
so you can't really say "I didn't know...").

And I'm sure you had lots of fun there. Please, also realise that this
is not one of those groups and that "ansi" is a swear word here.

The FAQ was made after a lot of discussion in this group and represents
what the majority of the people here think is the correct way to do
things.

Now we get to the part about "what is an artist?". IMHO being an artist
isn't just about getting the lines right, it is also about making things
that work. If you make a painting and after 50 years all the blue has
faded away, can you really call yourself a good artist? A good artist
would have known that that particular pigment would not last in the sun
and would have chosen to use a different pigment. If you want to "push
the envelope" and do new things you should first make sure you have
thorough understanding about what happens "under the surface" and what
the consequences are of doing something. If you just want to make
pictures, you only need to learn the rules that others have spent time
and effort to figure out about how to do things so that they work.

No, that's quite right, I didn't make the text saying "Veronica", Figlet
did. However, I would have been proud to have made the Figlet font
"small" (I think that's the one I used) since it is one of the clearest
and best ascii fonts.

My computer says "'.exe?' What is that? Something you eat?" (hint: not
everybody is a Micro$oft victim).

96? Lest see... that's [*counting*] three years after I graduated from
my first Computer Science university education...
