I still insist on my opinion. You may stay with yours. No use discussing
it further.

: Checking posts is a poor method, for investigating this newsgroup's

: Most of the "readers" do not post, however. Most of them just read

You're using OE5. From my experience it shows that people who
correspond with me tend to use the same software I use.
A matter of similar tastes I'd say. I suspect that's why you think
OE5 so widely dominates this newsgroup or entire usenet.

Also, people using OE post much more than others, so vast
majority of posts is composed with this software, but
it is not majority of people. Deriving this conclusion from
a handfull (118) of posts is very inaccurate, but still much
safer than inventing figures from nothing.

: Actually, it's a rat's ankle deal that I can't manage to post anything
: wider than 132 characters; I would prefer more like 250. Not often,
: but sometimes. I did a "poster" size ascii, several months ago. Old
: solid-style junk. I gave up on it, half finished. There wasn't much
: I could do with the thing, you see. I certainly couldn't post it,
: on usenet, except in some .gif-coverted form.

Making pictures 250 characters wide is no big deal. Usually
output from dumbest gif2ascii converters looks pretty good
at this scale. Make something that fits in 75 and looks
good when printed in poster size. That's some of the challenge.

: As to "netiqette"; forget that. It sucks. "Ettiquete" is much better.
: In either event, yours suffers somewhat, but understanably so. You're
: probably 15, and you just want to participate.
yes, I forget my manners sometimes, it's a shame. I'm not the
only one though, And at least I don't deny any rules because
"they suck" without even trying to understand why they were
brought up.

: Do you need assistance, with ascii and your Swedish keyboard?
Thank you very much, but I haven't got Swedish keyboard.
I am not Swede even.

: I doubt you really need this information, but I'm giving
: it to you, just in case. I don't blame you for wanting to jump
: in - this is the only argument going. The real point here, though,
: is not about foriegn language keyboards, or really about my choice
: to deliberately leave out an ascii chart. It's really about being
: polite to people; showing a little "ettiquete".
It would be ridiculous if you blamed me for jumping in. This is
a public forum after all. You're right about that real point, however,
and it seems that nearly every contributor to this tread missed it.
