One alternative is to have a series of .sig files in a list (with a
matching pointer file) and have the current .sigfile 'updated' after 
(or before) each invocation of your news-reader.

(script writing required, or knowlegde of awk, perl...whatever)

By the way, this wouldn't be 'random', but it *could* hit every .sig in
turn, which I *think* is better anyway.
