The way I managed to do this was to put all the sig's into a fortune
file, (look at the fortune help for more info), and create a shell
script that ran fortune on this file, and piped the outout to my
~/.sig file. Once I'd done that, I created a Cron job to run the
script file once every fifteen minutes... 

I hope you managed to follow that lot! A bit of a convulted route I
know, but it seems to work :-)

If you're interrested then I can send the relavent files as a 
template for you to work with.
