the alto clef is not used for the piano.  It's used for viola, some=20
choral arangements, and other various alto instruments.  Though, you=20
may be reffering to a bass clef.  This is the bottom line for piano (in=20
most cases, there's always the times when top switches to bass or=20
bottom switches to treble).  It apears as a backwards "C" with a ":"=20
next to it.  The alto clef is kinda hard to explain...it looks a little=20
like the standard deviation symbol in math, but thinner + a little=20
fancier.=20
