|Yes, Martin, that is wrong. The DOCTYPE for HTML 4.0 Strict is
|"-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0//EN", not "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Strict//EN". See
|http://plug.co.nz/html/tagpages/d/doctype.htm for more about DOCTYPES,
|and see http://validator.w3.org/sgml-lib/catalog for the list of
|DOCTYPES which the W3C validator knows how to handle.

Hmm... I was working from an old document about HTML4 that I got from W3C
ages ago, so that'll be why it was wrong :o)

|Using the Strict DTD instead of the Transitional one will prevent people
|from adding old-style (FONT COLOR and so on) formatting to their mirrors
|without invalidating the pages -- it allows only stylesheet formatting.
|It would also probably invalidate pages which had had script and other
|stuff automatically added to them by GeoCities or whoever, because that
|extra stuff would probably use FONT SIZE and so on. Whether this is what
|you want, I don't know.
'----------------------------------
While I was using strict I had a comment with a message to that effect,
something like...
<!-- if you would like to use FONT tags and BODY tag attributes to
format the page, you should change the 'Strict' above to read
'transitional' -->
But after VK's suggestion I changed to Transitional, so the message is no
longer necessary.
