Re: [PIC] txt stereo gram

Re: [PIC] txt stereo gram

Hi Tom

It is very difficult to represent the 3d ascii pictures because normally
when something is close to you it appears larger. In stereo-grams the closer
things become smaller! (very slightly). But they still seem closer!

How do you explain to someone who is blind what it is like to see? Things
seem outside of you but they can't be.
(maybe that is slightly less pronounced when looking through one eye. I have
noticed that things appear slightly less bright, and slightly less detailed)

Your picture does express something about the *process* of seeing a 3d
image, because the characters begin to overlap. But you have shown them
overlapping vertically, whereas actually they would only overlap
horizontally. A good way to demonstrate this would be to use an animation.

But your picture is excellent, because the very centre shows that clarity
which emerges when the 3d information comes together, ie overlapping of
identical characters.

regards - Michael
