That is correct. And the printable ASCII character set consists of the
characters on the keycaps in the normal typing block of a U.S. English
keyboard. "Extended ASCII" is a misnomer; there are extensions *to*
ASCII, but there is no "extended ASCII." Among the extensions are the
upper range of ISO 8859-1, IBM Code Page 437, and the Macintosh extended
character set. Please try to understand: ASCII is 7 bits. That allows 128
codes. Each code is assigned a control function or a character. There are
32 control functions, the space character, 94 printing characters (also
called, misleadingly, "graphic characters"), and the delete function.
Some keyboards have non-ASCII characters on some keycaps, but you can be
sure that if it *ain't* on a keycap it *ain't* ASCII.
