When your news reader updates its group list, it does not only get the name of the group, but as well article counters (so that it can show an estimate of how many articles will be in that group) and a flag - which can be y (unmoderated), n (no posting allowed) or m (moderated). Unfortunately, most readers ignore that flag. Look at 40tude Dialog (www.40tude.com) - this news reader will show a microphone icon next to every moderated group and a hand icon next to every read-only group. (BTW I think Dialog is one of the best news readers available - when you look at functionality. It is a bit buggy sometimes, but that might be because it is still beta.) obMiniMicrophone: .-. .'-' .'-. .' |\ Michael -- My PGP Key: User ID: Michael Schierl <sch...@gmx.de> Key ID: 0x58B48CDD Size: 2048 Created: 26.03.2002 Fingerprint: 68CE B807 E315 D14B 7461 5539 C90F 7CC8 http://home.arcor.de/mschierlm/mschierlm.asc
